Meet our Preceptors

Paige Austin, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP
Residency Program Director
Paige Austin, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP is the Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in 2011. Upon completion of residency, Paige joined Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas as a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and was the first residency-trained clinical pharmacist in Southeast Texas. Since joining BHSET, she has advanced to hold many different leadership positions including Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing a PGY1 pharmacy residency program, longitudinal advanced pharmacy practice experience program for fourth-year pharmacy students, and creating a clinical pharmacy program that includes clinical pharmacy specialists in ambulatory care, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, internal medicine, and NICU/Women’s Health. Each of these programs are the first and only of their kind in Southeast Texas. Her service and dedication has been recognized with the Baptist Hospitals Employee of the Year 2017 and the Dan Wilford Award for Compassion and Community Service. She looks forward to the continuing advancement of clinical pharmacy services and enhancing patient care through pharmacy.

Ashley Beagle, PharmD, BCPPS
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Ashley Beagle, PharmD, BCPPS is the clinical pharmacy specialist for pediatrics, women’s health, and internal medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University before going on to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Ashley completed a PGY1 Pharmacy residency at University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana and a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy residency at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She is board certified in pediatric pharmacotherapy. Her role includes implementing quality improvement initiatives for women’s health units and the neonatal intensive care unit and coverage of the 3 Trinity telemetry unit. She is a member of the NICU and women’s health quality committee and diabetes committee.

Krystal Holmes, PharmD, BCCP
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Krystal Holmes, PharmD, BCCP is the clinical pharmacy specialist for cardiology. She is originally from Detroit, Michigan and received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Following graduation, she went on to complete her PGY1 Acute Care Pharmacy Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics before moving to Houston to complete her PGY2 specialty residency in Cardiology at Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center. She currently serves as a member of the Surgical Advisory Committee and Cardiovascular Critical Care Committee.

Sheena Antony, PharmD, BCACP
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Sheena Antony, PharmD, BCACP is the clinical pharmacy specialist for ambulatory care. She is originally from Houston, Texas and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Sheena completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Hendrick Medical Center/Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy in Abilene, Texas and then a PGY2 in Ambulatory Care at HSC Health/UNTHSC College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. Sheena’s current practice site is at the Baptist Physician Network Family Medicine Clinic where she has a collaborative practice agreement and manages chronic disease states.

Savannah McCann, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Savannah McCann, PharmD, BCPS is the clinical psychiatric pharmacist. She is the preceptor for the Clinical Psychiatry rotation. She
completed her undergraduate studies in biochemistry at Mississippi State University before moving on to complete her Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in Memphis, TN. Following graduation, she went on to complete her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN. Her role includes serving as the psychiatric medication liaison for Baptist’s Behavioral Health Center

Cristal Lozano, PharmD
Transitions of Care Clinical Pharmacist
Cristal Lozano, PharmD, is the Transitions of Care Clinical Pharmacist. She is a preceptor for LAPPE students and pharmacy resident’s longitudinal experiences. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX before going on to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX. Cristal served as a Clinical II Pharmacist before launching the Transitions of Care Pharmacy Service at Baptist Hospital. Her areas of interest include transitions of care, infectious disease, and internal medicine.

Liliana Pimentel, PharmD, BCIDP
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Liliana Pimentel, PharmD, BCIDP is the clinical pharmacy specialist for infectious diseases. She is originally from Tampa, Florida and received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Liliana completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida and a PGY2 infectious diseases residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in downtown Brooklyn, New York. She is board certified in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy and currently serves as Co-chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee.

Kaycie Rathburn, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Kaycie Rathburn, PharmD is the clinical pharmacy specialist for emergency medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees at the University of Houston. Following graduation, she started at BHSET as a Clinical II Pharmacist then transitioned to emergency medicine. She has a passion for teaching and is the Longitudinal Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (LAPPE) Coordinator. She is also a member of the Code Review, Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma & Disasters Committees.

Brenna Johnson, PharmD, BCPSAssistant Director of Pharmacy - Inpatient Services
Brenna Johnson, PharmD, BCPS received her B.S. and Pharm.D. from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Following graduation, she completed a two-year combined Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. After residency, she joined Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas as the Pharmacy Operations Manager before becoming the Assistant Director of Pharmacy – Inpatient Services. In addition to overseeing inpatient staff pharmacist workflow, her areas of interest include process improvement, medication safety, and regulatory compliance. She is currently working on obtaining her Master in Business Administration at West Texas A&M University.

Fangzheng (Farrah) Yuan, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Fangzheng (Farrah) Yuan, PharmD, BCPS is the clinical pharmacy specialist in research. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis, Missouri. Farrah completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – St. Joseph Campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a two-year Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship in Outcomes Research at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Her main areas of practice include managing NIH- and NCI-sponsored clinical trials, conducting clinical research in oncology, and supporting pharmacy informatics.

Aily Powell, PharmD, MS
Administrative Director of Pharmacy Services
Aily Powell, PharmD, M.S. is a native Texan who received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from South University in Savannah, Georgia. She completed her PGY1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration residency with Memorial Hermann Health System and received her Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration from University of Houston. She is currently the Director of Pharmacy at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. She oversees several licensed pharmacies including: inpatient hospital, outpatient infusion and retail pharmacies. She has been successful at building several service lines including expanding pharmacy clinical services with the addition of several residency trained pharmacist, a medication history technician program, and expansion of 340b services to contract pharmacies. In addition, she established an ambulatory care clinic focused on transitions of care for the indigent. She continues to push the progressive boundaries of the hospital and pharmacy department to work towards a more integrative patient care model.
