Michael Gillespie, MD

Program Director, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Psychiatry Residency Program

Bio

Dr. Michael Gillespie is the Program Director of the General Psychiatry Residency at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Gillespie has been a dedicated member of the hospital’s medical staff since 2016, providing inpatient psychiatric care and developing innovative services, including a consult-liaison program. He previously served as Medical Director of Behavioral Health and as a clinical faculty member with the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Dr. Gillespie earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his psychiatry residency training at both the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital and the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he served as Chief Resident. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas, graduating magna cum laude.

As Program Director, he oversees curriculum development, resident education, faculty development, and program accreditation. Dr. Gillespie is deeply committed to training compassionate, skilled psychiatrists equipped to serve the evolving mental health needs of the community.

Lacie Callaway, MD

Bio

Dr. Callaway completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas. She completed her Adult Psychiatry residency at UTHSCSA, and she is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Callaway worked at Spindletop Center for 2 years from 2008 to 2010 and has worked in VA healthcare since 2010. She also serves as faculty in the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Psychiatry Residency Program.

Dr. Callaway enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and also enjoys gardening and high school football.

Lauren James, DO

Bio

Dr. James completed medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX. She completed her Adult Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Fellowship at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, TX. She is double board-certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. James works at Spindletop Center and also serves as faculty in the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Psychiatry Residency Program.

Nigil Thaimuriyil, DO

Bio

Nigil Thaimuriyil, DO, graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. He then attended medical school at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lillington, NC, completing the program as a Distinguished Graduate (Top 10%). He finished his internal medicine internship at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX, and completed his residency training at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, TX, where he was Chief Resident of Quality & Patient Safety. He received the “Medical Knowledge Award” in 2022. Following his graduation, Dr. Thaimuriyil began working as a hospitalist with Baptist Physician Network and assumed the role of Associate Program Director of the BHSET Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Raheel Imtiaz Memon, MD

Bio

Dr. Memon completed medical school from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. He is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Memon completed his General Psychiatry residency at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, MI; Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Fellowship at Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.


Dr. Memon serves as Medical Director of Psychiatry Services, is an attending psychiatrist at Baptist Behavioral Health Center, and is the BHSET Psychiatry Residency Associate Program Director. Dr. Memon previously served as an Alternate Delegate at the American Medical Association, where he focused on mental health advocacy. He enthusiastically works and mentor’s medical students pursuing careers in psychiatry. His focus is academia, practice of community mental health, and mental health advocacy both at the local and national levels.

P.K. Roy, MD

Bio

Dr. Roy is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a fellow with the American Psychiatric Association, a member of the medical staff of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas and is a practicing Psychiatrist at Baptist Behavioral Health Center treating patients in the inpatient setting as well as patients who are in the partial hospitalization program, Tranquility.

Juan Iribarren, MD

Bio

Dr. Iribarren, Internal Medicine Residency Faculty, joined the medical staff of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas after completion of his Fellowship in 2013. He previously served as a Member at Large on the Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Iribarren provides care to his private patients at Diagnostic Group located in Beaumont, TX. Dr. Iribarren was ranked 1st in his medical school graduating class. His training highlights include general pulmonary and critical care medicine with formal training in lung cancer, asthma/COPD, pulmonary hypertension and lung transplantation. His clinical expertise includes advanced bronchoscopic procedures, EBUS, electromagnetic navigation and endobronchial therapies, and advanced ICU care (ECMO, VADs). Dr. Iribarren has knowledge of the latest medical techniques and equipment through ongoing training and education. Dr. Iribarren is fluent in English and Spanish.

Nicole Hancock, MD

Bio

Nicole Hancock, MD earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Colorado and her Medical Degree from The University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. She completed the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr Hancock currently serves as the Program Director for Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Internal Medicine Residency Program and has since its inception in 2020. In addition, Dr. Hancock is an Assistant Hospitalist Director at Diagnostic Group and maintains a private practice panel. She is the Chair of the Research Committee and has served as Chair for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for the last five years. She is also a Medical Executive Committee Member at Large.
